Maple River Heritage, Inc.
Maple River Heritage, Inc. is our small town museum that brings our local history to life.
204 Silver Street East
PO BOX 474
Mapleton, MN 56065
We are preserving and archiving the history of the Minnesota Settlement Association (MSA) and the area that they settled in the Maple River Area.
These brave folks ventured here in 1856, before Minnesota was a State and at the time Mankato had only 6 houses (and now they are our County Seat).
We are telling the story of the 365 people that settled this area which is now more than just Mapleton, but also includes Good Thunder, Sterling Center,
Grapeland, Middleton, Cream, Pemberton, Minnesota Lake, Beauford, and the surrounding townships and area which is now 2 Counties (Blue Earth and the northern part of Faribault County).
Visit us for your family genealogy research. Our research library is strong and growing!
We are open Saturdays from 9:00 am to Noon and Wednesday evenings from 6:30 to 9:00 pm. We hope to see you soon!
